The F1 silly season continues to surprise the fans, but the resignation of Zhou Guanyu with Alfa Romeo was not one of them. The 23-year-old Chinese driver has been nothing but amazing in his debut season as an F1 driver. Despite the recurring mechanical failures and reliability issues, he has adapted to the world of F1 very well.

The fans are in awe of Guanyu’s debut performance in the sport and are eager to see his performance in upcoming races and seasons. With his new contract, Alfa Romeo have secured their drivers for the next season. The lineup will be Guanyu alongside Valtteri Bottas racing for the next season.

Guanyu has also been the victim of the most horrific accident this season but escaped unscathed with the Halo protecting him from any life-threatening injuries. It is safe to say that Guanyu has had an eventful and thrilling debut season and one he will not forget for a while.

What is Zhou Guanyu’s best finish in F1 so far?

With Alfa Romeo announcing that they will be retaining Guanyu for the next season, the fans are more than excited to see the 23-year-old Chinese driver’s performance in the upcoming seasons. Zhou has been an exceptional driver despite this being his debut season in F1 and has adapted very well to the sport.

Alfa Romeo’s team principal went on record to praise Guanyu and has said, “From day one with the team Zhou has impressed me with his approach to work. We knew he was quick, but the way he adapted to Formula One in such a short time has been one of the best surprises of our season.”

Guanyu has had a decent first season in F1 and despite having to retire for most of the races due to reliability issues and mechanical failures. His best race finish this season has been P8 which he achieved at the Canadian Grand Prix. Zhou is 17th in the driver standings with a total of 6 points this season.
