The F1 paddock is pretty active and humorous on and off the grid. Multiple drivers have comically hinted to others on the occasion of some of their country-based news. Recently, the Australian Oscar Piastri has decided to take a dig at Karun Chandhok the commentator after the men’s Cricket World Cup.

The India vs Australia Men’s Cricket World Cup final took place on 19th November, the same day as the Las Vegas GP. The Aussies took over Indian dominance in Cricket and finally emerged victorious by 7 wickets and defeated the Indian Team. Oscar Piastri was seen adorning Brett Lee‘s winning Cricket jersey from 2003.

Hence, on the occasion of the Australian victory, Oscar Piastri tweeted to the Indian commentator Karun Chandhok in an attempt to poke at the Indian team losing the finals. In the primary tweet, Piastri commented that he wished that Chandhok would wear the Australian cricket cap in the Abu Dhabi paddock.

To this, Karun responded comically and commented that he was glad on Las Vegas GP was his final race of attendance as he wouldn’t want to wear the Australian cap for obvious reasons. Additionally, Chandhok appreciated the amazing bowling innings from Travis Head in the first innings.

I am so so glad that Vegas was my final race of the season.

Finally, Piastri tweeted back to Chandhok and responded that it was a shame that he would miss out on the Abu Dhabi GP. Piastri also attached his image adorning the jersey and added that they could’ve matched their outfits at the Abu Dhabi GP.

Oscar Piastri now aims to finish the season on a high note

After the off-grid shenanigans, Piastri finally talked about the ultimate race of the season. The Aussie claimed that he would love to end the season on a high note for the team and reminisced about the past seasons when he was at the Abu Dhabi GP.

Piastri will conclude his rookie season and has hence scored amazing and impressive results. Piastri recalled his junior days at the Abu Dhabi GP and talked about the good old memories. He also talked about the McLaren testing that he was a part of before the start of the 2023 season of F1.

Oscar Piastri, despite being a rookie has really outshined a lot of other drivers on the grid. As the season of 2023 nears its culmination, Piastri now aims and hopes for greater results in the next season and talked about an improvement in pace in the next season. McLaren is also developing the machinery at a great rate to help the drivers fight at the front of the pack.
