Oscar Piastri made his debut in Formula 1 in 2023. The Australian driver replaced his fellow countryman, Daniel Ricciardo at McLaren and became teammates with Lando Norris. Both Ricciardo and Norris are known to have the most humorous personalities in F1. However, Piastri revealed the driver whom he thinks is the funniest on the grid.
A video surfaced on Twitter, where Oscar Piastri was asked about the funniest driver in F1. The Australian driver explained that he had just started to get to know his colleagues on the grid. The 22-year-old mentioned that his teammate, Lando Norris was perhaps the driver with the most humor in the sport. He said, “Lando [Norris] is pretty funny. If I have to say it… I’ll go with him.”
Fans might not be surprised by Piastri’s pick as the Australian driver has spent the most time with his teammate. Norris is loved by many for his personality and this pick is a testament to his good humor. Although, many might believe that Oscar Piastri snubbed Ricciardo who he is often considered as the most joyful driver on the grid.

Oscar Piastri has proved his worth at McLaren after replacing Daniel Ricciardo
Piastri was signed by McLaren to replace Daniel Ricciardo in 2023. The Woking-based team and Ricciardo came to a mutual agreement to part ways in 2022 despite the Honey Badger being contracted till the end of this year. Oscar Piastri had pressure to perform in his rookie season for the British squad and believed he would bring in better results than the 8-time race winner.
The 22-year-old has delivered some great results this season. Notably, the second-place finish during the Belgian GP F1 Sprint behind Max Verstappen. Piastri had even briefly led the F1 Sprint before losing the lead to the Red Bull. Moreover, the McLaren driver has come close to scoring a podium finish twice this season behind teammate Lando Norris.
Thus, Oscar Piastri claimed that Lando Norris is presently the funniest driver in Formula 1. The Australian driver decided to snub his own countryman in favor of his teammate. Although, the 22-year-old has not spent much time with Daniel Ricciardo this year. Perhaps this would change in the coming months with Ricciardo’s return to the grid with AlphaTauri.
