“Our update works,” Helmut Marko satisfied with upgrades as Max Verstappen claims pole ahead of Imola GP

Red Bulls’ Max Verstappen enjoyed a fantastic comeback after a failure to finish the race in Australia. The Dutchman claimed his first pole position of the season and will be starting from the front of the grid for the first Sprint race of the season. He qualified ahead of the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc who was beaten by a mere 0.8 seconds. While Mclaren’s Lando Norris qualified P3.
Red Bull managed to finally beat the Ferrari in their backyard after introducing new upgrades to the RB18 in Imola. They introduced new upgrades on the Floor of the RB18 ahead of the Emilia Romagna GP. And the Upgrades have aided in Max Verstappen claiming his first pole position of the season
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko said he is happy with his Red Bull’s upgrades. After a strong and successful qualifying session of the Emilia Romagna GP, he reflected on his thoughts in an interview with Servus TV.

Helmut Marko is confident that upgrades will benefit Max Verstappen to win the Imola GP

The Constructors championship leader Ferrari has been the strongest team to beat since the season began claiming victories in two of the first three races. But with Max Verstappen out qualifying Charles Leclerc in front of the Tifosi, the hopes in the Red Bull garage are high.
“Our update works,” said Helmut Marko proudly when asked about the success Red Bull has found with their new package. Marko is also confident that these will come in handy in the Saturday sprint race and the main race on Sunday even if the weather is sunny or in wet conditions like Qualifying. “We’ve hardly had any experience in dry weather. But once you’re upfront, it should be easier.”
The Emilia Romagna GP will host the first sprint race of the 2022 F1 season. If Verstappen wins the sprint, he takes home 8 additional points. And if he can claim a race win and fastest lap on Sunday, they will be awarded 34 points in total. This gives Verstappen a great chance to trim his 46 point deficit to championship leader Leclerc.
