The love story between F1 and Soccer is a well-known fact. The stars from both sports are often seen showing their support during each other’s events. Yesterday, took the place Bahrain GP, and the footballing legends came out in large numbers.
While the event was star-studded, one incident that has amassed massive attention is the snub of former Manchester United legend, Patrice Evra on F1 reporter, Martin Brundle. The former snubbed Brundle mid-interview to greet his fellow soccer star, Neymar.
During the grid walk, Martin Brundle caught a glimpse of Evra and approached him, for a quick chat. Their short conversation went like this:
Brundle: Here's my brother! Evra: Sorry!!
Evra was on the run when Brundle got close to him and while the former was about to talk, he caught a glimpse of Neymar and rushed toward him to greet him. He left Brundle high and dry and said sorry to him. Moreover, considering how average the on-track action was, the Evra-Brundle moment was high on the fans’ Bahrain GP entertainment list.
The Bahrain GP did not live up to expectations
While the Evra-Brundle moment has made immense noise on the web, the on-track action during the 57-lap Bahrain Grand Prix was surprisingly, shocking. FP1, FP2, FP3, and Qualifying raised fans’ hopes around seeing a tight battle at the front end of the grid.
However, the moment the lights went out, Max Verstappen disappeared into the distance and won the race by a handsome margin. His dominance was such that he won the race by a margin of over 22 seconds over his Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez.

Unbelievable start to the year, a 1-2 finish is absolutely fantastic ? Great work @redbullracing, let’s keep pushing ? pic.twitter.com/yPU7LrTHEc
The rest of the outfits like Ferrari, Mercedes, and McLaren were left tussling among themselves for the other positions. One thing that has pretty much been made certain after the race is that, Max Verstappen and Red Bull will once again dominate the sport during the ongoing season.
