The Red Bull F1 team has found itself in the limelight for all the wrong reasons ahead of the upcoming 2024 F1 season. The ongoing inappropriate behavior investigation into Christian Horner has damaged his and the team’s reputation massively but while the investigation is still in progress, F1 pundit, Peter Windsor has made it known that the Austrian outfit’s Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey might leave the team if Horner is sacked.

Christian Horner and Adrian Newey are one of the main pillars on the Milton-Keynes-based team around whom, the whole Red Bull F1 operation revolves. They both have played massive roles in the success that the team has amassed so far.

However, Peter Windsor feels that Newey would leave Red Bull if Horner is shown the exit door after the culmination of the ongoing investigation. While shedding light on the same on YouTube, he said, as reported by Formula Passion:

What could Red Bull do if Horner was fired? I wonder what Newey would do. He has probably reached an age where he could retire. Christian was really easy to get along with, they were always on the same page. I believe Horner's departure would have a direct effect on Newey's future.

The F1 pundit has made it quite clear that in his opinion, there is a very real possibility of seeing Adrian Newey leave Red Bull if Horner is sacked in the upcoming weeks/months. It is believed that the ongoing investigation is going to take a decent amount of time before a decision is reached.

Adrian Newey was the mastermind behind Red Bull’s all-conquering RB19

While Windsor has shed light on the prospect of Adrian Newey leaving Red Bull, the latter was the main man behind the production of Red Bull’s mighty RB19. The car operated in a league of its own last year, winning 21 of the available 22 races.

The Austrian outfit’s star driver, Max Verstappen, was able to put the car through the absolute wringer on most occasions and thus, was able to amass a sensational 19 Grand Prix win. Sergio Perez, on the other hand, managed two victories.

Adrian Newey is an invaluable asset among Red Bull’s ranks and in case, he decides to leave because of the Horner saga, it will be nothing short of a huge body blow for the team. Moreover, seeing Newey’s list of achievements, it will be almost impossible for Red Bull to find a suitable candidate to replace him.
