Lance Stroll
Formula 1 returns in Singapore on the 30th. However, there is a fairly large break between the two race weekends, and some drivers will be looking to make the most of it. During this break, Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll has gone to an NFL game, and he was present at the New York Giants’ recent fixture.
They won the game against the Carolina Panthers 19-16, and Stroll would certainly have enjoyed that. Following the NFL is certainly the preferred activity for the Canadian, and he does so in his free time, as revealed in an interview with Formula 1: “In the couple of months before the start of the F1 season, I’m on the couch watching football on a Sunday.”
And he said that the New York Giants are his team of choice: “I’m a New York Giants fan. I don’t get too many games these days, but I’ve been to two Super Bowls. In fact, they were the two Super Bowls that the Giants won, in 2008 and 2012. They don’t win much anymore, unfortunately!”

As Lance Stroll said, the New York Giants don’t do a lot of winning nowadays, but they have won 4 Super Bowls, and Stroll is a lifelong fan, and they certainly know all about that. Back in 2020, the Canadian received a surprise package from his favourite team.
Unboxing the package, the Aston Martin driver started out with “What could it be?” but that quickly turned into elation: “Okay, let’s go!” The package contained a jersey with his name and race number ’18’ on it, a white shirt, a muffler, and a hoodie (sweatshirt). Concluding the video, he said: “I’m geared up for the season. I know what I’m wearing on Sundays!”
Taking to Facebook, the New York Giants posted his pictures in the merchandise that they sent him, captioning the post: “Lookin’ good in Big Blue, Lance Stroll.”
It hasn’t been an amazing year for Lance Stroll, and he sits 18th in the driver standings with 5 points, which he has accumulated from 5 second placed finishes. However, he’s only just finished outside the points in many of the last races, and he may a chance for points in Singapore once again. His only finish in the points there came in 2017, the year he made his debut.
