Alpine and RFK Racing drivers

The Alpine F1 drivers, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, have landed in Miami for the first US F1 race weekend. Ahead of the start of the upcoming F1 race, the two prolific drivers have been having a blast in NASCAR machinery with RFK Racing. The 2012 Cup series champion Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher were the Alpine duo’s partners during their NASCAR experience.

The Alpine duo of Gasly and Ocon have arrived in Miami after a pretty terrible outing at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The team was nowhere near finishing in the Top 10 at the event. The two Frenchmen’s appearance with the RFK Racing drivers could be a ploy by Alpine to energize its F1 duo, and the lp fully put that miserable weekend behind them. The move was made possible by the NASCAR and F1 team’s common sponsor Castrol.

Moreover, from the clips that have come out from Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon’s The Next-Gen Cup car. It seems that they have had a great time. Esteban Ocon can even be seen having a blast in NASCAR machinery and taking it for a spin. It is crucial for Alpine to keep the morale of its drivers high before the all-important 2023 Miami Grand Prix.

As things stand, both the Alpine drivers have scored 4 points each in the season, and the team is currently sixth in the Constructors Championship behind the Woking-based McLaren F1 team. The Zak Brown-led team is currently six points ahead of Alpine and has got 14 points on the board after four races in the ongoing campaign.

After four races in the 2023 F1 season, Alpine’s Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly have scored points in only two. The former scored four in Saudi Arabia, whereas the latter scored two points twice in the season. However, despite this, the team has struggled with several issues.

The pace of the A523 has not proved enough so far to trouble the top 4 teams, and Alpine has witnessed quite a few gremlins on its car. The most dramatic was in Azerbaijan when Gasly’s car caught fire during the FP1 session at the event. As things stand, the team is not oozing much confidence going into the Miami GP.

Suppose Alpine is serious about reclaiming its fourth spot in the Constructors Championship again this year. In that case, they have got only one option, and that is to start putting in solid performances on a consistent basis. Otherwise, the Enstone-based team could come under pressure from teams like Haas and Alfa Romeo.
