Pierre Gasly poses an open challenge towards Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull ahead of the upcoming 2023 F1 season
Alpine’s newest driver, Pierre Gasly has set some goals ahead of the 2023 F1 season.
Pierre Gasly
After competing with Alpha Tauri for so many years, Pierre Gasly will finally be starting a new chapter in his life. The Frenchman will be racing for Alpine F1 team in the 2023 season. There was a lot of drama and controversy surrounding that second seat in the enstone based squad. Thankfully, all has finally been resolved and Pierre got his chance to race with a higher midfield level team.
The Frenchman will be partnered up with Esteban Ocon for the 2023 F1 season. This is quite amusing as the two drivers have a lot of history together. They both used to be rivals during their karting days. It is no surprise that the two drivers didn’t get along well. However, Ocon and Gasly have assured everyone that those things are a matter of the past and won’t affect their partnership.
After racing with AlphaTauri for multiple seasons, Pierre Gasly finally has a chance to prove himself. When he informed Red Bull about his move, Helmut Marko was open to him leaving as the French outfit’s offer was much better. While it was an emotional farewell for the 27 year old, what’s coming next for him is pretty exciting. The 2023 F1 season will determine how much the Frenchman has improved.

Pierre Gasly is ready to challenge the top 3 teams
In an interview with GPblog, here is what the Frenchman had to say. “It’s a new start to a new journey. I must say I’m extremely motivated and can’t wait to hit the track. “Alpine had a fantastic season last year,” he continued. “The target for us is to consolidate fourth place in the championship and close the gap to the top three,” the French driver concluded.
Alpine F1 team finished 4th in the constructors championship last season with Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon at the helm. The team hopes to improve this season with the addition of Pierre Gasly to the team. The main issue that they will be facing right now is their reliability. If they are able to improve it for the upcoming season, the Enstone based squad will be able to pose a threat to the top 3 teams.
