McLaren was one of the teams who turned out to be the winners at the end of the Sprint race as after starting from P15 and P16, both its drivers were able to make up a decent number of places.

Lando Norris was able to get up to P11 and Daniel Ricciardo on the other hand was also able to manage a P12 finish at the end of the fast-paced Sprint Qualifying.

Norris after the race deemed McLaren’s outing as a positive one and Ricciardo while talking about the team’s performance said,” “We came up and had a bit more pace than some of the cars in front of us.” He joins Seidl in declaring that “points” are the goal tomorrow.”

It is not that only the two drivers were happy after the Sprint race, their Team Principal Andreas Seidl also expressed optimism and just like Norris and Ricciardo, feels his team can get into the top 10.

The Sprint race has given the papaya-colored team a lifeline as otherwise on a normal racing weekend, they would have to settle for P15 and P16 start for the race.

Given that Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo are going to start tomorrow’s race side by side, they both should be extremely careful going into Turn 1 as the last thing that McLaren would want is to see their drivers crashing into each other.

Turn 1 is a pretty tight corner and after witnessing Pierre Gasly’s incident with Lewis Hamilton, it can be said that the McLaren duo would have to be cautious and aware of their position around the first tricky part of the track.

Moreover, the dash to the first corner is not very long as once cars get on the throttle, the corner comes pretty quickly. It is going to be in McLaren’s best interest that its drivers are swift on the accelerator at the start because there will be quite a decent number of cars who would be looking to overtake them going into Turn1.

How many points do you think McLaren would be able to come away with from Speilberg?
