“Red Bull are trying to find the sweet spot,” Craig Scarborough optimistic regarding Max Verstappen’s title credentials despite a challenging start

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen is definitely one of the fastest drivers in the paddock, if not the fastest. But it seems like Red Bull has not been able to take full of Dutchman’s pace as the team has been unable to fix its issues. Max Verstappen already has had 2 DNFs in a season which has seen the emergence of the utterly dominant, Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque driver already has a 46 point lead over the reigning world champion.

Red Bull and Max Verstappen have had their fair share of reliability issues which have already costed them a bagful of points in the first three races. The Honda and Red Bull relationship has worked so well for the Austrian team in the past has not worked out this season around. There have been a handful of issues regarding the engine which forced Max Verstappen to retire both in Bahrain and Australia.

It’s not like Red Bull finds itself in unchartered territory when it comes to developing a fast track. It’s just that they have not been able to find the right combination to have an edge over the competition. But, we need to understand that it’s a long and there hasn’t been a single season where the championship has been decided after just three races. Therefore, Max Verstappen and Red Bull are still in the fight.

Craig Scarborough is confident of Max Verstappen and Red Bull’s ability to bounce back despite a difficult start to the season. He said, ““The car has got pace, there is no question about that. The question now is unlocking that.

The car is also heavy. Red Bull are trying to find the sweet spot of that package.

“There is a relationship between the three parties, engine, chassis and fuel and that needs to be resolved. Because they cannot afford any more DNFs.”

I have no doubt that in time they will be competing for wins and titles, but what we’ve so far is the car is less consistent,” as reported by gpblog.

Red Bull and Max Verstappen have their work cut out if they intend to compete with Ferrari and Charles Leclerc. The issue is in the car. If Red Bull can sort it out, we have a championship fight on our hands.
