Red Bull F1 team release a comment in support of Max Verstappen’s ‘unfair’ attitude towards Checo Perez
The 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix was one of the most exciting and entertaining races of the season and it had its fair share of drama as well. Max Verstappen the current 2-time world champion refused to yield his position to help his teammate Sergio Perez gain crucial points in the fight for second place in the driver’s championship.
Since, Verstappen has already claimed the world championship this season, yielding the position to Perez would not have cost him anything. The 32-year-old Mexican driver was unhappy with Verstappen’s behaviour and called him out in the post-race interview – he claimed that Verstappen would not have 2 championship titles if he hadn’t helped him out at crucial moments throughout the season.
Perez felt betrayed by Verstappen and he made his feelings extremely clear during the interview. Verstappen finished in P6 while Perez finished right behind him in P7 and now has the same number of points as his rival Charles Leclerc in the fight for second place. The F1 community was outraged and disappointed by Max’s attitude in the race and have spoken out against him on various social media platforms.

The incident between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez at the Brazilian Grand Prix has sparked a lot of hatred for Verstappen among the fans and the drivers in the F1 community. People have gone on social media platforms to condemn Verstappen’s action at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Red Bull Racing team have gone on Twitter to make a comment justifying Verstappen’s actions at the Brazilian Grand Prix and believe that he is not at fault and was caught off guard by the radio message. They believe that the 25-year-old Dutchman’s reason for not yielding the position to Perez was correct and they stand by it.
The fans and the F1 community have showcased their hatred for Verstappen’s attitude after winning 2 World titles and feel that his ego is the reason why he did not yield the position to Perez. The extra points would not have made a difference to Verstappen as he has already won the championship but for Perez, it was crucial in his fight for second place in the standings.
