The Monaco Grand Prix turned out to be an exceptional race for Red bull after Sergio Perez crossed the line to take victory, and his teammate followed him up on P3 to finish the podium, along with Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari. This grid was followed up after a poor pit strategy from Ferrari which made Charles Leclerc lose P1 and end up on P4.
The race start was delayed by around 70 minutes because of heavy rain, and the Ferraris went out on wet tyres, then Leclerc switched to intermediates, and was later mistakenly called in to switch to hards, which made him lose 3 places.

According to Cesare Fioro, former sporting director of Ferrari, Ligier, and Minardi, Red Bull has a major advantage over Ferrari that can make them a really tough competition in the championship. This advantage is mainly how Red Bull reacts during races, and it has been seen multiple times that the way Red Bull reacts to any incident that happens during a race makes them get closer to winning the race. A bright example for the same is Max Verstappen’s final pitstop in the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He had almost lost the race until Latifi crashed out causing the safety car to deploy, Red Bull reacted to this instantly, calling Max in to switch to softs, which made him gain his World Championship victory.
Monaco proved Red Bull’s amazing strategies
The Monaco Grand Prix was another showcase of the team’s amazing pit strategies, which made both their cars undercut both the Ferraris, taking on the victory, and making it Perez’s third victory in F1, and he became the first ever Mexican to win in Monaco.
Cesare Fioro also stated: “I think Red Bull is generally better at reacting during the race,” GPBlog quoted him. “We should not forget that last year in Abu Dhabi, Max Verstappen did not seem to win the world title, but his team called him back to the pits and provided him with a fresher tire, so he could attack Hamilton. Horner and his crew have something extra in this respect.”
This certainly makes it obvious that this year is going to be a head on head collision of Ferrari with Red Bull after Max Verstappen took over the lead of the championship from Charles Leclerc, and Red Bull took over the constructor’s championship from Ferrari.
