The Red Bull F1 team is on a tremendous run at the pinnacle of motor racing under the current regulations. The RB19 proved too mighty and while this year’s car was to be named RB20, it has come to light that the Austrian outfit might name it DM01.

Red Bull lost its owner, Dietrich Mateschitz back in October 2022, and thus, the team is planning to name its 2024 car, DM01 in his honor. Mateschitz was not seen often around the F1 track but was a major pillar of strength on the team.

As per a deleted tweet made by Speedweek (journalist, Mathias Brunner) which is affiliated with Red Bull, the RB20 will be named DM01. After their late owner, Dietrich Mateschitz.

Looking at this, it seems that the Milton-Keynes-based team might not go with the expected RB20 name for the 2024 F1 season. Keeping in view Mateschitz’s impact on the team, it would just about be the right thing to do.

Red Bull is the favorite going into the 2024 F1 season

While Red Bull could use DM01 as the name for its 2024 F1 car, the outfit is the absolute favorite to set the season alight from Bahrain onwards. The RB19 operated in a league of its own and much of the same is expected this year.

However, keeping in view that it has been two seasons under the current set of regulations, Max Verstappen and Co. might have to work hard during the campaign. The lights of Ferrari and Mercedes could pose a serious challenge.

Moreover, Red Bull could also come under pressure if Sergio Perez is not able to do his job. The Mexican had a horrendous time behind the wheel of the RB19 last year and there are chances that he might struggle again.
