David Croft, a Formula 1 commentator, has talked about the prospect that AlphaTauri may drive Red Bull’s present car next year. The RB19, which has won all 12 races so far this season, is swiftly rising to the top of the list of the most dominant F1 cars ever. But this stands in stark contrast to their sibling team AlphaTauri, which has just three points and is at present last in the Constructors’ Standings. Their setup has been significantly less competitive than in seasons past, particularly in 2020 and 2021, and their drivers have battled with it the entire season so far.
On his podcast, Sky Sports commentator David Croft talked about the future of AlphaTauri: “The one which excites me is AlphaTauri. After this, where do the AlphaTauri go? “However, does Daniel Ricciardo intend to compete for AlphaTauri next year? Maybe, if the AlphaTauri is a far better car,” Croft said. Numerous rumours are claiming that the idea is for them to run this year’s Red Bull next year, possibly under the nickname Toro Rosso once more.
Given the unmatched speed that Red Bull has demonstrated in the current season, it is very possible that even in Future it will maintain its position on the grid. This wouldn’t be anything new in Formula One; Racing Point raced the infamous “pink Mercedes” in 2020, which was strikingly similar to the Mercedes W10 that won the championship in 2019. They came in fourth place by a razor-thin margin and had a race victory to show for it.
Big plans for AlphaTauri next season as they might borrow Red Bull’s winning car
It’s been rumoured for weeks that Red Bull is planning to sell its sister team’s naming rights and would probably convert it into a works team. This rumour materialised with a rumour of a potential deal with German Clothing and Luxury Brand Hugo Boss expected to Replace AlphaTauri Branding and Become Hugo Boss F1 next season onwards. The AlphaTauri Campaign wasn’t a big fuss which Red Bull has hoped to market its Clothing line up.
But new investments from the German Conglomerate and its strong partnership with Red Bull and a potential RB19 for next season should excite fans more than ever. This should excite Daniel Ricciardo for the seat in AlphaTauri in 2024 if he’s not excited about the seat at all. The future of the team certainly looks interesting and the fans will have a new livery and team to look into in the future with the Humble driver lineup of Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Riccardo.
