The Alpine F1 team has had a mixed bag of a 2023 season. Still, amongst all the ups and downs of the sport, there is some good news for the fans. Hollywood A-listers Ryan Reynolds, Michael B. Jordan, and Rob McElhenney have bought a 24 percent stake in the Enstone-based team via their investment firm Maximum Efforts Investments.

The Renault group has made it known that Maximum Efforts Investments, Otro Capital, and RedBird Capital Partners have also played a significant part in getting the 24 percent stake deal through. With this $217 million worth deal, the overall value of the Otmar Szafnauer-led Alpine F1 team now stands at a whopping $900 million.

The Alpine venture is not the first time that Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have decided to buy a stake, the duo took over Wrexham FC in 2021, and the team recently fought its way back to the Football League after a long 15-year absence. The team accomplished this task by winning the National League title.

Alpine’s Chief Executive Officer, Laurent Rossi is pleased with the association of Ryan Reynolds, Michael B. Jordan, and Rob McElhenney with the team. While talking about it, he told BBC, “This association is an important step to enhance our performance at all levels.” Rossi ardently feels the new deal will immensely help in improving the media profile of the team and also in achieving the team’s long-term targets.

While Laurent Rossi and Co. are extremely pleased with the new deal the outfit has secured, Alpine cannot deviate much from the tough task at hand during the ongoing 2023 F1 season. The team is currently fifth in the Constructors standings and is trying desperately to close the gap to the teams ahead.

Alpine’s drivers, Esteban Ocon, and Pierre Gasly, have recently praised the team for improving the A523. Still, they have also made it known that the team has got a lot of work to do to catch the lights of Ferrari, Mercedes, and the Silverstone-based Aston Martin Formula 1 team. These teams are quite far ahead of Alpine in terms of car development.

However, the ongoing campaign is only nine rounds down, and there are still 14 races remaining on the 2023 calendar; Alpine has got time on its hands but starting from the Austrian GP onward, the team would have to perform at a high level consistently to close the gap to the front runners.
