Over the years, Lewis Hamilton has been an icon and an inspiration towards many in multiple industries. The Mercedes driver had won a total of 7 world championship wherein he won a championship with McLaren in 2008 whilst the rest were won with Mercedes. Lewis also holds other records which includes the records for most career wins, most pole positions, most podium finishes, most career points,most laps led and many more bonkers records. He is statistically the greatest F1 driver of all time.
Since his debut in 2007, Lewis Hamilton became and still is the first and only black driver to race in Formula One. This is something that the Brit is trying to change. Lewis is known not just for his skills on the track but also for his various skills outside the track. The Mercedes driver has a knack for wearing the most unique outfits which have made him the fashion icon in the F1 paddock. Apart from this, Lewis has been an active speaker regarding the BLM movement and has made his stance in the paddock. He had also made it possible for people of colour to get the same opportunity as others for a shot at working in F1. The impact that Lewis has had on the sport is immense. The abuse and discrimination that he had had to suffer all his life has never stopped him from pushing harder than ever and proving his critics wrong and shrugging off his haters.
Serena Williams was asked in an interview with Times about who were some of her GOATs (Greatest Of All Time). She further proceeded to take Lewis Hamilton’s name first and proceeded to praise him. Lewis retweeted that video and let her know that he was honoured by this gesture. This is what Serena had to say about the British driver.

In the video interview, Serena Williams was asked to reveal her list of all time greats and this is what the tennis legend had to say. “I mean, I think Lewis Hamilton obviously I mean for me it’s like such a, not only the greatest but also he does so much. You know he’s an amazing guy,” she said.
Lewis Hamilton further went on twitter and quote tweeted the video where he mentioned her and put out a red heart alongside the word ‘honoured’ to let her know how much this meant to him.
Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams have been friends for a long time now. They have had a similar impact on the respective sports that they have competed in. It is nice to see the immense respect that the two athletes have for each other and the support that they provide.
