The Austrian GP F1 Sprint was set to be an exciting affair and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Max Verstappen started from pole position with teammate Sergio Perez alongside the Dutchman in a Red Bull front-row lockout. However, things heated up at the start of the race, with Perez lashing out on team radio on the first lap itself.

The Mexican driver had a better start than Verstappen and gained the lead after turn one. The two-time champion tried to squeeze him out, but “Checo” managed to maintain traction and kept the lead. The 33-year-old had an outburst on the team radio about this incident. Perez exclaimed, “What’s wrong with Max, man?”

The 33-year-old tried to keep his lead, but Verstappen was right on his tail. The Dutchman swiftly regained his lead and ran off into the distance. Perez, on the other hand, was overtaken by Nico Hulkenberg of the Haas. The German driver maintained his position in front of the Red Bull driver for over ten laps. However, Perez took back the position and finished second in the Austrian GP F1 Sprint.

The two Red Bull drivers wasted no time in clearing things out after the chequered flag. The Mexican driver went straight to his teammate to have a conversation. Verstappen and Perez could be seen discussing the issue at great length before the post-race interviews began. Thankfully, the two drivers seemed satisfied after the lengthy conversation.

Sergio Perez was asked about the incident. The 33-year-old quickly dismissed the issue after conversing with the two-time world champion. He stated, “It’s all fine, we just spoke about it” Similarly, Max Verstappen ruled out any sort of a conflict with his teammate over this incident. Following the heated incident, it seems things might be under control in the Red Bull camp.

However, Sergio Perez was far from happy after being squeezed out by Max Verstappen. The incident not only forced the Mexican driver to lose the lead but fall back to third place. However, it looks like the two Red Bull drivers resolved the issue without requiring team manager Christian Horner or consultant Dr. Helmut Marko to intervene.
