The 2023 Formula 1 season was one heck of a grueling affair. Several teams complained about the long calendar and amidst all the uproar that it created during the season, Red Bull driver, Sergio Perez, feels that the decision-makers need to do more to make the calendars more efficient.
During the final few races of this year’s campaign, several people in the F1 paddock were feeling the effects of the long and demanding race calendar. From the mechanics to the high-profile drivers, almost everyone felt the ill effects of tedious calendars and was seen facing several health-related problems.
While several people have already expressed their displeasure with how things were done last season, Sergio Perez has urged F1 to do more for the well-being of the regular people in the F1 paddock. He said, as reported by RaceFans;
The schedule really has to be more efficient and try to look after everyone in this world a lot more. My main concern is some of my mechanics, really.
Looking at the reaction of the Mexican driver, it is quite clear that he wants Stefano Domenicali and Co. to have a serious look at certain things and do their best to make things more bearable during next year’s 24-race calendar.
Sergio Perez needs a strong 2024 campaign
While Sergio Perez has raised concern about the well-being of people in the F1 paddock, on a personal note, he desperately needs a strong 2024 campaign to keep hold of his Red Bull seat. The 33-year-old’s current deal with the Red Bull F1 team is coming to a close at the end of next year.
Perez had an extremely torrid time behind the wheel of the RB19 during this year. Despite having the best car underneath him, he was not able to pose much of a challenge to the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen. In terms of wins, he was only able to amass two in comparison to Verstappen’s 19.
Happy to wrap up the era of the RB19, a historic car for the whole team.

Finished with lots of laps and plenty of information to prepare for next year.
Time to rest a bit and enjoy time with my family.
Thanks everyone for a great year!

Sergio Perez will be under the pump from the get-go during 2024 and it would be in his best interests to be at the top of his game. Otherwise, there are quite a few sharks out there who would jump at the opportunity of driving for Red Bull whenever it presents itself.
