Sergio Perez asks F1 to explore additon of SPECIAL tracks to the calendar after Red Bull’s Madrid show run amidst second Spanish GP rumors

Sergio Perez and Red Bull recently caused havoc in the streets of Madrid. This year, the team has been keen on doing as many show runs as possible. While Ex-F1 driver David Coulthard normally takes the wheel of the old Red Bulls’s for such events, this time around it was different. Checo went on to get behind the wheel of Sebastian Vettel’s championship winning car as he went through the streets of Madrid.
Sergio Perez also caught up with Marc Marquez who has been resting a bit due to the MotoGP summer break. The Mexican driver has been rocking the streets so far with neon lights under the car to make the Red Bull showrun experience more exhilarating. Before the show run took place, Checo also held a press conference where he talked to the press and answered a few questions about at Madrid GP and street circuits in general.
The Mexican driver talked about the possibility of the Madrid GP taking place in an interview. I would love a career in Madrid, but undoubtedly the happiest person would be Xavi Martos, my coach. He likes Madrid a lot, and we love it too,” he said. “I think urban circuits are special, it would be good to add more to the calendar. There is a very special atmosphere when we go, especially like the one that can happen in cities like Madrid,” he continued.
Sergio Perez needs to up his game following Daniel Ricciardo’s return to F1
Sergio Perez has been having a pretty mediocre season so far despite winning two races. The Mexican driver hasn’t been able to get in a good qualifying finish in the last few races. At the start,it seemed like Checo was a proper contender for the championship. However, Max Verstappen is now 99 points ahead of him in the championship standings just 10 rounds into the season.
With Daniel Ricciardo in the mix, there is even more pressure on Sergio Perez to perform. While Red Bulm hasn’t guaranteed him a seat in the main team, the uncertainty with the energy drinks squad showcases that it could be possible. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what Sergio Perez can do next to next week at Hungary. This won’t be the first time that the Mexican seat is under danger.
