The 2024 season will commence soon, with the first race just under a month away as all the teams have also revealed their 2024 challengers. Hence, amidst these preparations, Sergio Perez has highlighted his plans beyond the coming season. Multiple talks of the Mexican being ousted from the team have surfaced following his mediocre performance in 2023.
Sergio Perez applauded Milton Keynes due to their recent performances and the opportunities that they provided to the drivers. The 34-year-old insisted that he was at a great team in Formula 1 and didn’t want to leave the team. Additionally, Perez highlighted his goal to fully focus on the beginning of the season and carry on with Red Bull in the coming seasons. The Mexican had previously pointed out his goals to score a contract expansion with the team.
I think I'm at a great team, For now, I'm fully focused on the start of the year and ideally, I’ll be able to carry on for more years in this team.Perez told racingnews365.com.

Apart from this, the Mexican mentioned that the start of the season would be really busy as during this time the driver would have to showcase the best results. Perez won two races at the beginning of the 2023 season and failed to manage any other victories down the season. Hence, the 34-year-old doesn’t want a repeat of that and would ‘focus’ on the first few races of the season. Previously Christian Horner claimed that Perez was the team’s first option for 2025.
The start of the season is going to be really busy, So just focusing on the first few races, that's my main objective.
Sergio Perez aims to have a solid 2024 campaign
Sergio Perez refused to put forth any specific timelines for the 2024 season. The driver would like to put his head down and maximize results in the season to score a contract extension within the team. Perez finished P2 in the 2023 season despite multiple hitches down the season and a close call with Lewis Hamilton for the runner-up spot.

Hence, Sergio Perez will try his best and push for the first five races as these races are the most important races. Additionally, the 34-year-old claimed that these races take a lot of energy out of the drivers and hence he would need to maximize results during these races. The Mexican will try his level best to be on par with his reigning world champion teammate Max Verstappen down the season.
Red Bull has revealed the challenger for the 2024 season and also the racing suit. Hence time will tell about the performance of the RB20. The challenger will most likely follow in the footsteps of the highly dominant RB19 and help the drivers score great results down the season.
