The second half of the 2023 F1 season so far has been a nightmare for Red Bull’s Sergio Perez. His massive slump in form when his teammate Max Verstappen is dominating races prompted rumors about Red Bull planning to oust the Mexican for Daniel Ricciardo. But the #11 RB-19 driver is confident he will not be replaced in 2024.

One of the major rumors that was shut down by Red Bull ahead of the US GP was the team giving Perez an ultimatum. Reports suggested that if Perez doesn’t produce solid performance in the remaining five races of the 2023 season. The driver and team advisor, Helmut Marko, refuted the claims and confirmed that Red Bull will respect Perez’s contract for 2024.

Sergio Perez, as reported by soymotor.com, claimed that he has no doubts that his 2024 contract will be obliged, and he doesn’t see any reason for Red Bull not to do the same. He also said that he is enjoying the time he is having with Red Bull a the moment.

Christian Horner backs Sergio Perez to make a comeback

The team boss, Christian Horner, has broken his silence over the rumors surrounding Perez’s future within the team. The boss has backed up his racer and said that the team knows Perez’s capabilities as a racer. He also added that Perez found qualifying sessions rather difficult than the race.

Horner also said that Perez being second in the driver’s standing is not bad. He claimed that Perez had an amazing start to the season, and the team finished first and second in six races. Perez even won two races and one Azerbaijani sprint race.

Sergio Perez believed he would return to his ‘best level’, claiming that the COTA GP and Mexico City GP would bring much better results for the 33-year-old Mexican racer. Perez also added that he isn’t done with Formula One yet, and he wants to race for a couple of more years.
