Sergio Perez feels ‘consistency is key’ when it comes to beating Max Verstappen

Sergio Perez has been second best to Max Verstappen this season and has also had a tough time in the last few races before the ongoing summer break.
However, despite all the setbacks that Sergio Perez has suffered this season, he is still having the most successful season of his F1 career and has also signed a new two-year deal with the Red Bull team.
The 2022 Formula One season is 13 races down and after all the nerve-wracking tussle on the track, Perez is currently sitting in third place in the Drivers Championship and has got Charles Leclerc in catching distance who is just 5 points ahead of him.
The Mexican truly believes that he can become World Champion in Formula One and can beat his prolific teammate Max Verstappen. While stressing over it Perez said, “If everything is good and I drive perfectly, I can beat anyone in Formula 1.”
Sergio Perez has been in the sport for a long time and ardently believes that with the right machinery and proper utilization of his skills, he can beat anyone in the sport.

Sergio Perez has praised Max Verstappen on his 2022 season so far
Max Verstappen is driving like an absolute monster this season and in the 13 races has already won 8 of them. Moreover, Sergio Perez has also acknowledged the superhuman abilities of Verstappen and while talking about competing with the Dutchman for the title has said, “Max has incredible qualities, is very mature for his age and has a very good feeling for the car.”
“Therefore, the question is not whether I can beat him in a weekend, but how many races can I finish ahead of him. It’s about consistency. That’s what makes a champion.”
The 32-year-old has left no stone unturned in praising Verstappen and has also said kind things about the Milton-Keynes-based Red Bull team.
Perez has added, “I’m with the best team in the world. The amount of knowledge and talent that comes together here is incredible and with Max, I have a driver of absolute world class as my teammate.”
The Mexican is happy about extending his association with the Red Bull team and is confident that the upcoming years are going to be all about winning and enjoying success together as a team.
Red Bull has one of the strongest driver pairings in the sport and now that Perez has also started getting comfortable behind the wheel of its car, the future promises a lot for the energy drink outfit.
