Red Bull has started off the 2024 season in great form. Max Verstappen secured pole position in all the races so far. The Japanese GP was no exception witnessing the sheer dominance of Red Bulls in this season. The team scored an impressive one-two finish at the Suzuka circuit and Honda’s home race. Hence, Sergio Perez showcased his excitement over the team’s grand success.

Sergio Perez asserted that it was a good weekend for the team, especially with the start and restart after the red flag by Daniel Ricciardo and Alex Albon’s crash. Additionally, the Mexican driver admitted that his race pace wasn’t good enough to catch up to Max Verstappen. Perez faced issues on the medium stints, however, bounced back well on the hard compound.

It was a good weekend for the team, especially with the start and restart. My second start was better but not enough to get Max. We were undercut by Lando so I had to push too much on the medium stint, but on the hards I was able to push and come back.
Sergio Perez told during post-race interview.

Regardless, the 34-year-old cheered and mentioned that Milton Keynes can be strong everywhere after scoring a rampant victory at the Japanese GP.

I think we are in a good momentum, here last year was probably my worst weekend so if we are strong in places like this, I think we can be strong everywhere.

However, Perez indeed qualified in P2 and emerged victorious in the bet. Hence, Horner opened up on the team radio after the qualifying session how the 34-year-old cost money to him. The Mexican driver had a hilarious response and claimed that this was the way to keep him motivated. The entire betting idea was a great way to showcase the friendship-like bond between the driver-principal duo.

Now you see how you can motivate me.
Sergio Perez said on the team radio, via gpblog.com.

The team will continue to perform exceptionally well throughout the 2024 season, all thanks to the highly capable RB20 challenger. The 34-year-old driver will also potentially score a contract extension with such great performances. Hence, things are looking positive for Milton Keynes as the team prepares for the upcoming sprint-weekend in China.
