Sergio Perez, the Red Bull F1 driver, has been in a torrid run of form during the 2023 F1 season. The first leg of the campaign is done and dusted, and Perez is currently a mammoth 125 points adrift of Max Verstappen in the Drivers Championship. This has led to rumors of an upcoming alteration in his current deal with the Milton-Keynes-based team.
The Red Bull group is well-known for taking concrete actions when they are not happy with the performances of their F1 drivers, several have faced their wrath in the recent past, and it is a common belief that now it is Sergio Perez’s turn. He has been nowhere near the level of his teammate this year.
The 34-year-old was under continuous pressure before the summer break because of his lackluster performances. While he has currently found a break from it because of the ongoing summer break, it seems he is going to hear some painful news from Christian Horner and Co. because of a reported clause in his contract.
As per the reports, it is believed that Perez could be smacked with a downgrade in terms of reduction in salary and bonuses as reported by De Telegraff. However, everything that has been mentioned above is only rumored at the moment. Nothing concrete has been made public by the Red Bull Formula 1 team.

Sergio Perez needs to get his act together at Red Bull

While the rumors train around Sergio Perez have been in full motion recently, Sergio Perez desperately needs to turn his season around by putting in consistent performances during the second leg of the ongoing campaign. No one is expecting him to match the prolific Max Verstappen at every race, but Red Bull at the least wants him to bring home solid points on a consistent basis.
The ongoing summer break has provided the Mexican starlet with a good opportunity to have a look at things he did wrong during the first leg. Moreover, considering his wealth of experience in the sport, several of his die-hard fans are going to expect him to have a solid run during the second leg.
The F1 extravaganza is making a return on the 25th of August, and from Zandvoort onwards, several people in the F1 paddock are going to have their eyes glued on the exploits of Sergio Perez behind the wheel of the RB19. Perez needs to prove his doubters wrong during the second leg of the season.
