Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen have been teammates at Red Bull since the start of the 2021 F1 season. They have had their ups and downs over the years but after spending three seasons together, it seems things have finally started to click between the two in terms of their bonding.
During the 2022 campaign, Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen had quite a few firey tussles. No one can forget the war of words that took place between the two during that year’s Brazilian GP. However, with time, they have started to respect each other a lot more and are pleased with each other’s company.
The duo was recently at the Red Bulls factory in Milton Keynes with their team principal, Christian Horner. While talking about the relationship with Verstappen, Perez added:
It has got a lot more romantic.
Moreover, as a response, Verstappen said;
More passion, more passion, more energy, more energy, more footwork, more footwork.

Looking at the upbeat reaction of Perez, it is quite clear that he is incredibly pleased with how his relationship with the reigning world champion has blossomed in recent times. Verstappen on his end, has also several times admitted that he is pleased with having the Mexican driver as his Red Bull teammate.
Sergio Perez needs a strong 2024 F1 campaign
While Sergio Perez has oozed immense optimism regarding his relationship with Max Verstappen, the former desperately needs a strong 2024 campaign to continue as Verstappen’s teammate. Perez’s current deal with the Austrian outfit is coming to a close at the end of next year.
Moreover, he has got the lights of the former 8-time Grand Prix winner, Daniel Ricciardo breathing down his neck. The Australian has his eyes set on the 2025 Red Bull seat and if Perez is not able to deliver as per expectations, he will most probably be shown the exit door in favor of Ricciardo.
Closing the year with more than 1400 people who make all this possible.
