Last season, the tale of Red Bull was entirely one-sided in Max Verstappen’s camp. The Dutchman had won 19 out of the 22 Grand Prix last year. On the other hand, Sergio Pérez took a measly two wins home in the dominant RB19. Now, Checo has claimed that he will extend his championship campaign this year and take on a fight with the three-time champion.
The Austrian manufacturer had recently been in the news for an investigation against its team principal, Christian Horner. However, the focus of the paddock has now shifted to the RB20’s launch conducted at Milton Keynes yesterday and on its drivers now. The Mexican Minister of Defence has decided to up his game this season and bid for the title challenge against his teammate.
I'm really looking forward to this year, and just want to hit [the] track. I want to improve myself in all the aspects, and take a step further.Sergio Pérez said in a video by Red Bull (H&T:@JunaidSamodien_).
The Mexican explained he wanted to get on the track as soon as possible and learn how the car behaves. Last year, the 34-year-old had been way behind the Dutchman and fell way down the order. The six-time Grand Prix winner is convinced that he will do one better this season and take the fight for the top spot in the championship.
Max Verstappen was spotted driving the RB20 after its launch
The Dutchman was spotted driving the 2024 challenger at Silverstone in the wet. The 26-year-old had driven the car at the shakedown earlier, but now he took the car out on a run in the wet.

A clip of the RB20 surfaced X(formerly known as Twitter) and many fans gave their reaction to the car. Some claimed the car was going to win the title from the pre-season testing, while others were shocked by its sheer sound.
However, Verstappen took the car out on a run to understand its dynamics and learn how this car behaves. The Dutchman would be looking to add another title to his cabinet and is entirely focused on the upcoming season.
