“Seventh is a strong position,” Fernando Alonso hopes to make inroads during the race after a decent qualifying session

Fernando Alonso
Fernando Alonso was pleased with his performance in the French Qualifying. He managed a good P7 after struggling a lot before in the practice sessions. It is a home Grand Prix for the Alpine team and they want to deliver their fans the best possible experience they could. Alonso hopes for the same as he explains the struggles and plans the team will look after in tomorrow’s main race.
French Grand Prix is considered one of the most boring races on the calendar, but this could change this time around. With cars being able to fight close to each other closer than before. But the most important factor during the race will be tyre management and Alonso surely understands its importance.
“It has been a challenging weekend so far but seventh is a strong position for us to start in tomorrow. We were not totally happy in practice with the car balance and so we’ve been working hard all weekend to improve that, “ said Fernando Alonso
“Yesterday the long runs seemed quite strong for us, so let’s see whether we can make some gains tomorrow. Tyre management is going to be a big factor as they are overheating and graining, so it’ll be a real challenge in the heat,” Spaniard explains the tyre usage.
Fernando Alonso also explains another factor that might decide tomorrow’s race

Fernando surely understands to role tyres will play and so does the pitting strategy. With the most time lost during the race done while a driver’s pit, France has the longest pit lane time required. The average stop time at the French circuit stays around 29 seconds.
Alonso talks about the strategy teams might look forward to for the minimum time given on pits.
“The pit lane time loss is also one of the highest of the championship, so a one-stop strategy will be ideal tomorrow, but whether that is possible we’ll have to wait and see. The atmosphere has been great, and we’ve really felt the love from the home fans, ” understands Fernando.
Esteban Ocon the homeboy is starting from P10 after grid penalties were given to Carlos Sainz and Kevin Magnussen. He will hope to give his teammate a fight including the team rivals McLaren.
