After Nelson Piquet, Kelly Piquet his daughter has come under the radar of Lewis Hamilton fans after Kelly was noticed liking a relative’s post on Instagram that defended the actions of her father Nelson Piquet.
Nelson Piquet has come under heavy criticism following his racial slur against Lewis Hamilton and since then hasn’t been able to catch a break. The outpour of anger towards the 69-year-old is incessant and there are chances that it could remain the same for some time to come.
Given the criticism that Piquet Sr. has faced, his nephew recently posted a picture on Instagram on which as a caption he wrote, “Our great-grandma called us ‘niggas.’ What matters is love. Damn hypocritical world.”
Things were okay till the time the picture was posted, but the moment the picture got a like from Kelly Piquet, things got out of hand quickly and now Kelly Piquet is also facing a lot of criticism from all over the world.
Kelly is the girlfriend of Max Verstappen and is always going to be in the eyes of the public and she could have let the post slide in order to fend off any hate coming her way, but she didn’t and now is in the same boat as her father.
Max Verstappen is yet to speak on Nelson Piquet’s comment
Max Verstappen who is the son-in-law of Nelson Piquet has kept a tight lip on the Piquet saga and now that his wife has also started facing criticism, it is going to be interesting to see for how long the Dutchman is going to stay mute about Piquet’s comment.
Max Verstappen is currently leading the Drivers Championship and the Nelson saga could hurt his driving standards given the race is on the coming weekend.
It is almost certain that Max is going to be bombarded with questions relating to Nelson Piquet and considering how the media is nowadays Verstappen would be forced into giving a reaction.
The Nelson saga has just started picking up pace and over the three days of the British GP, it is going to continue to build. So much has happened so fast and Verstappen has got a tough three days heading his way.
