Formula 1 fans in Germany are in for a treat this Sunday as Sky will be showcasing the Hungarian Grand Prix live and free of charge on the internet. Breaking barriers and extending accessibility, Sky has made arrangements for viewers to catch the race on multiple platforms. Fans can join the action-packed event on “skysport.de,” the Sky Sports app, or even via the official Sky Sports YouTube channel.

This exciting initiative follows the successful streaming of the Spanish Grand Prix in May. It also reinforces Sky’s position as the sole provider of Formula 1 coverage in Germany since 2021. Previously, RTL had sublicensed four races per season, but they decided not to renew their contract with Sky at the beginning of the year. Despite efforts to find an RTL successor, no agreement was reached.

Following the Formula 1 contract, four races must be shown free-to-air per season. Sky’s commitment to bringing the sport to a wider audience is evident through its free online broadcast. Courtesy of Sky German viewers will get a taste of Formula One for free.
