Red Bull have dominated all five rounds of the 2023 Formula 1 season. They have an incredible pace advantage over the grid. After five races, they have four 1-2 finishes and four pole positions. Their achievements include four fastest laps and only 11 points drop in the constructor standings. While some say their pace is alarming, others credited them for doing a good job.

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali is aware of RB19’s performance. Though he applauded Red Bull for their car, he believes it would be unwise to say the championship fight is over. Domenicali does not think Red Bull might get away with the title again as the season is long. He also does not want to intervene to curb their dominance, as he claims the cost cap will address the issue.

Stefano Domenicali spoke about Red Bull’s performance at an event run by the Financial Times. He stated, “This year, we need to say the truth: Red Bull did a better job than the others, it’s a fact. But I would be imprudent to say the championship is finished.” While the rest of the F1 world believes Red Bull are the season’s favorite, Domenicali does not rule out other teams in the fight for the championship.

Domenicali added, “We cannot intervene in the performance of the teams. I am sure what we did in terms of financial regulations will help to minimize the gap on the technical side.” The Formula 1 CEO claims the series won’t help Red Bull’s rivals to become more competitive by making any changes. According to him, the budget cap will take care of the issue.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen claimed his third victory at the Miami GP after starting from the ninth place. The 25-year-old also won in the Bahrain GP and the Australian GP. His teammate Sergio Perez also had his fair share of success this season. The Mexican driver won the Saudi Arabian GP, the Azerbaijan GP, and the sprint race.

Team boss Christian Horner is delighted with the results but also surprised. He even questioned what happened to his rivals and why Ferrari and Mercedes have under-delivered. Horner claimed that Red Bull only made a normal step over the winter break. However, the Milton Keynes outfit is cautious about their rivals. The team believes Ferrari and Mercedes will bring upgrades and close the gap between them.

Horner is also wary about Red Bull’s limited wind tunnel time. Due to the cost cap breach, the team was served a penalty. They believe it would have a negative impact on them in the upcoming races. This might be one of the reasons why Stefano Domenicali does not think the championship is over.
