The news of Lewis Hamilton‘s transfer to Ferrari from Mercedes has been the most important topic of discussion in F1 world as of late. The Briton is going to enter his 18th year in Formula 1 with the 2024 season coming up soon, and after this stint, he will pack his bags to move to Maranello as he is slated for a 2025 debut with Ferrari. And F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali views this as a perfect opportunity for Formula 1 because ‘the dynamics and relationships will change’.
While people have been torn over whether Lewis Hamilton took the wise decision by moving to Ferrari, Stefano Domenicali has extended his support. The Italian has the special interests of both Formula 1 as well as Ferrari at heart since he has served as the Team Principal of the Scuderia and he is currently employed as the top man in FOM too. In 2008, when Jean Todt stepped down from his role as the leader of Ferrari, Domenicali had assumed that role and continued it till 2014 before changing his role to F1 CEO.
Speaking of the prospects that interest Formula 1 with regards to Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari, Stefano Domenicali sounded quite enthusiastic.
It is certainly very interesting news which has had an extraordinary response not only in Italy, in England you can just imagine, but also around the world. This is a guarantee of extending attention to our world also for next year . It is certainly very positive.Stefano Domenicali said, as per FormulaPassion.
Formula 1 has rejected Andretti-Cadillac’s bid for an entry into the sport in 2025
Michael Andretti and his father Mario Andretti have created an entire motorsports empire that is already involved in the racing world of the USA. But till date, the racer duo have not been able to crack the secret to entering the European market, and hence their interested has turned towards Formula 1. As a global top-notch racing sport, F1 commands massive viewership and Andretti’s entry into it would ensure huge returns for their business.
Thus, Michael Andretti started the preparations for getting his team accepted into F1 and for this, he needed two clearances–one from the FIA and one from the Formula One Management. Despite getting the greenlight from the rule-making body, the FOM reviewed their proposal and rejected it. In a very short and curt statement, the FOM claimed they do not believe Andretti-Cadillac would be a very competent team considering their newness.
In other news, Andretti-Cadillac have also given their response to FOM’s statement about them. The team released two different responses, and in the second onez they called for a meeting with the stakeholders of F1 to get to the bottom of their deal. But as of now, no such meeting has been scheduled and it is unclear if there is any remnant interest in this matter on the FIA’s side.
