Susie Wolff blasts F1 drivers for ignoring the F1 Academy series, says ‘it’s always Lewis Hamilton’ that supports them
Lewis Hamilton is the only F1 driver who has so far openly shown his support for the all-women F1 Academy series.

Susie Wolff, the managing director of the F1 Academy series, has made it known that she is disappointed at the lack of action on the part of the F1 drivers in showing their support for the new series. She believes that it is always the 7-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, who is seen showing interest in the all-women series.
The main motive of the newly launched F1 Academy series is to promote the inclusion of women drivers in F1 in the future years of the sport. Susie Wolff is putting all her time and effort into bringing the participation of women to a recognizable level but is disappointed that, barring Lewis Hamilton, none of the other F1 drivers have put their weight behind the series.
It’s a little bit sad that it’s always Lewis. He’s always the one offering support, coming over, and really, because I think in the end, he knows what it’s like to be the only one and so he has an affinity. But there’s going to be the 10 F1 teams with their own liveryWolff said, as reported by F1Briefings
She added that she expected more from drivers with massive platforms as F1 Acadamy is a long-term project, and their support will be massive for aspiring female racers.
So I expect a lot more interaction from the F1 teams generally next season because they have the platforms, they have the voices and I think that’s something which will be hugely helpful because this is not a short-term project. If we want to see success, it’s got to be long-term.
Lewis Hamilton has always been the flag-bearer of diversity in F1
While Lewis Hamilton has been recently seen supporting the F1 Academy series, he has always been the flag bearer of overall change at the pinnacle of motor racing. He genuinely believes that the inclusion of people from all ethnicities is also the right way forward and is, thus, often seen coming up with inspirational talks on the same.
Hamilton has a huge fanbase worldwide and sees it as his responsibility to do as much good as possible for him. Moreover, considering that he is the only racer of color in Formula 1, he understands how difficult it is for people from certain backgrounds to make it to the top in the various facets of life.
Lewis Hamilton has previously, on several occasions, made it known that women’s participation is the next best step for F1. However, he and Susie Wolff need support from the other F1 drivers as well to really put the all-women racing series on the global map. Otherwise, the series would just turn out to be like a flash in the pan.
