Max Verstappen the reigning F1 World Champion has lit up the 2022 Championship as well and Russian professional tennis player Danill Medvedev has also admitted to being a fan of Verstappen and F1 in general.

Moreover, as someone who regularly follows the happenings of F1, the Russian Star feels that the 2022 World Championship is already in the pocket of the Dutchman.

While talking about his love for the sport and especially for Max Verstappen, Medvedev said, “I respect Max. He’s an amazing driver, especially, I would even say more this year for me than last year. This year, the consistency is so strong.”

Max has been supremely consistent in 2022 and this is one quality that has caught the eye of the number one tennis player in the World. Moreover, Ferrari has also played their part in providing the 24-year-old with a huge lead in the Championship.

The Maranello-based team hasn’t been able to put in consistent performances and this has immensely hampered their progress this season. Ferrari, this year, has on many occasions simply handed over race victories to Max Verstappen.

Has Max Verstappen already got both his hands on the 2022 World Championship?

On the back of last year’s Championship win, Max Verstappen is driving at an insanely high level this year and one of the examples of this was seen at the Hungaroring where the 24-year-old was able to come away with maximum points after starting from P10.

Medvedev while talking about Verstappen’s Hungarian Grand Prix exploits said, “He started in P10, some people wanted Leclerc to win to have more of a championship fight. But Max won it. He’s just amazing.”

Daniil Medvedev is a true supporter of Max Verstappen and from that point of view believes that the Championship is already decided in the favor of the Dutchman. However, from a sportsman’s perspective, he feels that the 2022 title fight can last until the very last round.

While stressing over the predicament, Medvedev said, “In my opinion, yes. But when I say it, I’m a sportsman, so I know it’s not true. As a fan, I say yes, I think so. But as a sportsman, I say nothing is decided until the last point.

There are only nine races left in the current campaign of F1 and considering the gap that Max has got to Charles Leclerc, the Dutchman is in a prime position to win the Championship and it is going to take a huge effort from Leclerc and Co. to throw Verstappen off his pedestal.
