Sebastian Vettel has announced his retirement from F1 at the end of the season. It’s come along as a surprise for everyone connected with the sport, especially for the current Ferrari drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who have had the privilege of closing quarters. Charles even got the opportunity to be his team mate with Ferrari before Sebastian decided to move to Aston Martin.
The four time world champion has always wanted to be seen as more than just a racing driver and we have seen that in his interviews. Whether it’s homophobia or racism, the German has always taken a staunch stand against these social evils. While announcing his retirement, he clarified that he wants to live a life outside of this sport and wishes to spend time with his family.
All the drivers have come out to show their appreciation for this legend as he prepares to start his last ride in F1. There are 10 races left in the season and we would all want Seb to finish it on a high. Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc tweeted to show how much would they miss him in Formula 1.

Carlos Sainz in his tweet said, “THANK YOU SEB! Let’s finish this season on a high with some proper racing!!” Charles Leclerc took to Instagram and uploaded a picture with him captioned, “What a person and what a driver. We’ll miss you.“
Ferrari also thanked the driver tweeting, “It’s been an honour to share so many memories with you in Formula 1. Looking forward to enjoying the last few races together in the paddock. Best of luck for your future challenges in life.”
Red Bull did do the same tweeting, “Danke, Seb. Cheers for the great times and the four World Championships.”
It’s going to be a sad day when Sebastian Vettel leaves F1 but we still have 10 more races to see the German behind the wheel of a F1 car.
