Red Bull was known for their dominance in the 2022 season. The 2023 Formula 1 season is no different. The Milton Keynes team won all three races held so far. Max Verstappen won the Bahrain GP and the Australian GP. Sergio Perez was victorious in Saudi Arabia. It is no wonder that they are the season’s favourites, again. While some folks have expressed concern over the team’s dominance, Haas team principal Guenther Steiner is not too bothered.

Steiner spoke to Autosport about Formula 1’s integrity. According to him, integrity should have priority over performance. Steiner believes that the battle between Perez and Verstappen is not without sparks. It has all the entertainment needed for now. The Haas team boss does not want any rule change to curb Red Bull’s dominance in Formula 1.

Guenther Steiner stated, “The sport is the main thing we have to have. The show is secondary, but I think it will sort itself out and then still we have got a good race going on in the front row with Checo and Max, that doesn’t seem to be without sparks, without show.” He also spoke about the attempts to change rules to limit Red Bull. “I mean it’s a voting system, you cannot make moves just because somebody is faster than somebody else, that’s not fair.”

Steiner does not think Red Bull will have an advantage in all the races. “I would say they work. Obviously at the moment, Red Bull has an advantage, but I wouldn’t say they’ll keep that advantage now for the next 20 races. I’m not so sure about that because everybody will catch up, and hopefully, we find out how Red Bull came to this advantage and we can copy it, or do something similar.”

Guenther Steiner mentioned that all the teams are working hard. He also reminded people of Red Bull’s penalty from last season. Steiner firmly believes that less development in the wind tunnel will affect their performance. However, he praised Red Bull for their “fantastic” job. He feels that if someone does a better job than other teams, they should get an advantage.

The Italian boss wants the FIA to intervene only if something is illegal and states they can adjust the rules then. Steiner does not think it is wise to jump to conclusions about Red Bull because there are 20 more races left. The 58-year-old believes there might be swapping around in the midfield teams in every race. He does expect a tight midfield battle.
