Max Verstappen managed to score another great win at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix this weekend after both the Ferraris failed to make it even through half of the race distance after their engine failures. Sergio Perez initially led the race after Leclerc’s retirement, but after a couple of laps, Verstappen was able to overtake the Mexican on the first turn. Perez was asked to not fight Verstappen for the place once he overtook him. After grasping a jaw dropping 20 second lead in the race, Max Verstappen crossed the line to score another 25 points and extend his lead in the championship.

Mika Hakkinen, former F1 driver and champion earlier stated that Max Verstappen should be grateful to Sergio Perez for his victory in the race for following the team orders and having to go through a 5-second pit stop during a crucial time in the race. However, former driver Paul di Resta thinks differently. He stated that even if Perez had the upper hand for most of the weekend, Verstappen still had a 20 second lead later in the race which proves why people are so afraid of racing Verstappen and why is he such a big deal to beat.

“That is why he (Max Verstappen) gets paid the big bucks,” Paul di Resta stated.
Paul di Resta stated that there is a reason why he is paid such a high amount and why are racers afraid of facing him. “Nobody has been able to match him today (Sunday),” GPBlog quoted Paul. “That’s why he gets paid the big bucks and that’s why he was world champion last year and that’s why people fear racing him.”
Max Verstappen has started to assert his dominance in the sport after winning the World Championship last year from Lewis Hamilton. This year, too, he has had the most wins until now. Even after not finishing two races and scoring 0 points, he has an amazing lead in the championship with 150 points in his hands.
