“The car is where it should be,” Esteban Ocon confident about new upgrades for Silverstone

“The car is where it should be,” Esteban Ocon confident about new upgrades for Silverstone

Alpine

The Alpine F1 team and Esteban Ocon are having a good time this season, as with the new regulations with which many teams have failed to cope up with and perform, Alpine have been relatively better than most of them, and have been scoring decent points. The team recently had an amazing front-row qualifying in Canada with Fernando Alonso qualifying P2. The team has been developing their car continuously, the most major one was brought in last month at the Spanish Grand Prix with other teams, and while Montreal had a more effective beam wing, the team had updated sidepods and low drag front and rear wings for the Azerbaijan GP.

Esteban Ocon recently stated that the team would be bringing in even better upgrade packages at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. While many of the teams are afraid of crossing the budget cap by upgrading their cars, Alpine are still bringing upgrades without stopping, and the upgrade package at Silverstone is being said to be a major and substantial one. And as the Frenchman has stated, he believes that this upgrade could bring in a lot of potential and put the team in a good place.

Esteban Ocon stated that he is delighted with the team as they are not stopping with the cars’ upgrades like other teams did, worried for the budget cap.

“It is very encouraging,” Ocon told Motorsport. “And the team is pushing forward a lot and getting their upgrades early, and not when they were planned.”

“And, it’s delivering it’s going in the right direction. And I think since the beginning of the year, we have improved more than a lot of other teams. So yeah, we can be satisfied, and it’s going in the right direction.”

The team currently stands at 5th in the standings with 57 points in their bag from both Alonso and Ocon.
