“The challenges are that you go from one continent to another,” Guenther Steiner wishes for a weekend devoid of any car damage

Guenther Steiner

The Haas F1 team and their team principal, Guenther Steiner have had a very bright start to the season after Kevin Magnussen has pushed their cars beyond the limit to perform better than the team has ever done. They were also able to qualify P4 for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the best the team has ever qualified. This definitely means that the car has been developed a lot in the past 2 years, yet, the team has been facing issues. Even with all the development and pushing in the races, there are only 15 points to the team, and all of them scored by Magnussen, because Mick Schumacher is yet to score a point.

The fact that Mick Schumacher has failed to score a single point is not the only issue the team has been facing; Schumacher has had some of the most terrifying crashes in races like Saudi Arabia and Monaco. Those crashes have not only put the team under a lot of pressure, but has also challenged them financially, which is making it hard for them to upgrade their cars. It was revealed by Guenther previously that he has warned Schumacher, and also how Haas always remains in financial troubles.

With Schumacher’s low performance, it obviously gets difficult for the team to carry on with less points and lower finishes, and the team principal expects less or no damage for the car in the entire Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

“It’s just down to having a good team around and working hard, but it’s a challenge as they only have a few days to get set up again and get going again for the next race,” PlanetF1 quoted Guenther.

“If you have any damage on the car it gets more difficult, so we are hoping to not have any damage in Baku.”

After the Monaco Grand Prix, the team stands 8th with 15 points from Kevin Magnussen and no points from Mick Schumacher.
