Pierre Gasly, driving for Alpha Tauri talks about meeting the six-time NBA championship winner, Michael Jordan.

As we are getting closer to the Miami GP, all the F1 drivers are having fun in their way, some are meeting celebrities, some sports stars, the list goes on and on. In midst of the heavy preparation for the grand prix, Alpha Tauri driver Pierre Gasly took out time and had a very special dinner with NBA star Michael Jordan. Jordan is an NBA legend who won six-world titles with the team Chicago Bulls during his amazing 15-year career. 

After posting his picture with the legend, Pierre Gasly’s Instagram went on fire, as of now, the post has gained more than 650k likes and around 2.7k comments.

The Frenchman revealed that he had been impressed and a fan of the legend Michael Jordan ever since he was a child. “The guy’s a genius, he’s in another league. First thing is his mentality, the way he’s thinking intellectually. I was very, very impressed,” said Gasly.

Gasly also revealed that Jordan has been his idol, and this was the best experience of his life. “The most inspiring dinner I’ve ever had. Since a kid I’ve always been inspired by this guy, his mentality and the success he’s had in these years.
“Everyone says you should never meet your idol, because you can only be disappointed, but this was the complete opposite. The guy is just a genius, in another league, the way he is thinking intellectually. I was very, very impressed,” quoted Pierre.

Michael Jordan is apparently a big F1 fan and knows a lot about the sport, according to Pierre Gasly

Pierre Gasly also went on to say that Jordan is a huge F1 fan, who knows more about the sport, “more than I do,” stated Gasly. 

“It was very impressive, and great to discuss it with such a legend. It was a great dinner, I’ll remember it all my life.”

The exchange of gifts included Pierre giving Jordan his crash helmet, and Jordan signing Gasly’s Air Jordans. 

Ahead of the GP, Pierre Gasly stands 13th in the championship, with 6 points, and the team have scored a total of 16 points, making them 7th in the constructors’.
