“The support for Max is crazy,” Sergio Perez expects the ‘Orange Army’ to go BERSERK during the weekend at Zandvoort
Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen
Sergio Perez is coming on the back of a P2 finish at the Belgian GP but was miles behind his team mate, Max Verstappen. The reigning world champion was head and shoulders above the rest of the pack as he cruised to register the 29th win of his short but illustrious career. Max started from P14 on the grid after taking an engine penalty and had a mountain to climb on his favorite Spa circuit.
The one thing that was his favor was that he had the pace to dash through the field and secure a podium. But, it what happened during the Belgian GP was mesmerizing to watch. Super Max Verstappen got off to flying start as he made up 6 places amid the chaos in the very first lap. The safety car was definitely helpful in bunching up the pack and keeping Max within striking distance of Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz up top.
Another thing that helped the reigning world champion was the resounding support he got from his faithful. Whether it’s Spa, Jeddah or even Silverstone, we have seen the orange arming turning up in numbers to cheer on their star driver. The numbers will be multifold in Max Verstappen’s home race and we can expect it to be a party at Zandvoort.
