Helmut Marko
Helmut Marko, CEO of Red Bull Racing, still sees room for RB-18’s weight management and thinks there is more weight to put off the car that might hand them a few tenths of extra pace. Marko talked about the excellent start the Red Bull team got in the first half of the season after the first few races did not end up the way the team wanted. The Austrian squad pulled a remarkable comeback in the last 5 races, winning all 5 of them.
Helmut also talked about not having a great first half of the season in the past few years. But things are not the same this season, with the team leading the constructor championship with 80 points and both the drivers leading the championship with a 1-2 on the table. Red Bull used to suffer in the first half of the season with fewer tracks to their advantage, this season with a good straight-line pace many of the tracks support the red bull design, and so will the upcoming Canadian circuit.
The whole team is in the right rhythm. Actually, our first half of the season is always weak. Not this year,” Marko says. Ferrari has had poles in 6 of the 8 races, so there is still scope for the team to improve their lap times, but Helmut is optimistic about the Canadian track. “The circuit suits our car. We are optimistic that we can get a good result. Canada is a circuit that suits us very well.” said Helmut.

This season the cars are meant to be around 798 kg as the limit, with Ferrari almost reaching the limit has no more room for improvement, but Red Bull on the other hand still has room to gain a few tenths if they manage to put out some weight.
“There are still a few tenths in the car,” Marko concluded.
Red Bull is way ahead in the championship at the moment making the championship an easy way to go for them. With Max and Sergio leading the championship, the fight has now between the teammates.
