“There was no joy,” Tobias Grüner surprised at Charles Leclerc’s reaction following his first ever finish at his home Grand Prix

Tobias Grüner called Charles Leclerc’s fourth finish a great result even after the Monacan failed to finish his well-deserved victory in his home race. Charles started on the pole and lead the race until his first pit stop, the second pit stop took all hopes from him for the win and he ended up finishing fourth.

The driver was fuming and was all disappointed after the race, to which Tobias replied, “There was no joy after the race,” states in surprise. The 24-year-old had never finished a single race before, neither when he was in F2 nor when he reached F1, but he cleared out all the speculations of a real ‘curse’ existing in his home race.

“Fourth place was the best result Leclerc had ever achieved in his home race. In two Formula 2 races and three Grand Prix weekends in Formula 1, the 24-year-old had not seen the chequered flag once in the Principality.” continued Tobias appreciating the Ferrari driver for his first points finish.

Charles Leclerc could have finished his home race not only with his first points but his first or rather one of the best wins of his career. He also could have managed to get himself on the top of the championship overtaking Max Verstappen by quite some margin.

All that he has now is a 9 points gap between the championship lead and a new rival just 6 points behind him. Sergio Perez managed to win the streets of Monaco and brought him just behind Charles’s head. Now with rumours of Perez also fighting for the championship, Ferrari and their drivers need every bit of luck and work to get themselves both the titles after 14 years.

Ferrari is lagging 35 points behind Red Bull after a lot of DNFs causing them losses of points all around.
