Sebastian Vettel the former four-time F1 World Champion has decided to call it quits in the sport and the whole of the F1 fraternity is in absolute tears.

Sebastian Vettel’s retirement decision came out of nowhere as during the French weekend the German admitted that he intended to continue in F1 beyond 2022 with Aston Martin.

The 35-year-old’s decision has sent shockwaves throughout the world and it has been extremely difficult for his fans to digest that they won’t be able to see him behind the wheel of an F1 car at the end of the current season.

Vettel while explaining his decision said, “Happier than ever. I’m sure! I think it’s not one question you ask yourself and that’s it. I knew it was a life-changing decision. I’m turning a corner and not knowing what’s there. It’s something we all face at one point.”

The Aston Martin driver has admitted that his decision is a life-altering one but believes it is something that everyone has to go through at some point in their careers.

Sebastian Vettel has been associated with several teams in his F1 career but one team where he enjoyed the most success was Red Bull.

Vettel changed the fortunes of a young Red Bull team that was trying to find its feet in F1 since the mid-2000s. The German won the Milton-Keynes-based team their first title in 2010 and from then onward was able to land another three for the team.

The time between 2010-2013 is considered the golden era of Red Bull and it was all down to the winning mentality that Vettel brought with him into the team.

As Vettel has now decided to hang up his boots after 15 years of service, F1 fans can only be grateful for the breathtaking moments that the prolific driver provided during his career.

He is going to be dearly missed after 2022, and, the fans are wishing him all the best in whatever challenge he decides to take up next.
