Christian Horner should be pleased after taking another victory in France with a usual face on the top, Max Verstappen. Though the other driver, Sergio Perez, only managed a P4 finish after losing the battle to the Mercedes driver George Russell. However, Horner still fears a comeback from the rivals, Mercedes, after the team struggled throughout the season. German team managed their first double podium of the season in the French Grand Prix. The direct rival, Ferrari seems to struggle with the team balance with a devastating finish to the championship rival, Charles Leclerc after he crashed his car. Ferrari overall has struggled throughout the season even though they have the fastest car on the grid.

Though Red Bull is way ahead of the rivals in both the championships. But the improvement the teams are coming up with race after a race seems to pinch the Red Bull team. Mercedes has made a drastic improvement since the Bahrain GP. They managed to match the pace on the top in Spain and Silverstone and are on the way to getting the pace to fight on the top regularly. Christian Horner talked about the possibility of a comeback not far off.

Anytime a top driver struggles with the race end, Mercedes manages to grab the opportunity and put themselves on the podium. With the most reliable engine on the track, Silver Arrows has that consistency to back them with the pace difference on the top. Christian Horner understands the importance of turning all the opportunities into the best possible result his rivals are currently doing.

“They were certainly talking up their chances coming into the weekend,” Horner said.

Red Bull currently is 126 points ahead of Mercedes which currently seems like an impossible task in the battle for the first position. But Mercedes looks promising for the fight with Ferrari for the second position as the difference is just 44 points. With the reliability coming as a big part of the game this season, the British-based team could have a chance at the second spot with a much slower car.
