Alex Albon has had the privilege to share the same tea as Max Verstappen. The decision after Pierre Gasly’s unsuccessful stint with the parent team. The Thai driver did put in a few decent performances but was unable to play the perfect team mate to the current world champion. At the end of the 2020 season, the driver had to lose his seat to Sergio Perez who has given some incredible performances for Christian Horner and Red Bull.

We all know that Alex Albon loves the mentality and driving style of Max Verstappen. The Dutchman did something which a not a lot of believed was possible last year, which was taking the fight to Lewis Hamilton and getting the better off him. We can agree that it happened under sketchy circumstances but nobody can debate the sheer talent and determination shown by Max Verstappen throughout the season.

That made him earn a lot of fans across the world. Alex Albon was also in awe of the Dutchman having seeing him carry out business from close quarters. The current Williams driver pointed out how challenging it is to be Max Verstappen’s team mate. He explained that the other driver doesn’t really have a lot of room for error and also emphasized that it’s impossible to copy his driving style as it’s unique.

Alex Albon recently talked about how different his driving style is as compared to other drivers. He said, “It’s a weird comparison to make, but if anyone watches MotoGP, think of someone like Marc Marquez.”

“He has a very specific driving style and it works for him, and it’s quick, but it’s not always the easiest to follow.”

“Of course, he’s on the limit, and he likes a car that’s very much on the nose, and I think that’s a pretty well-known thing.”

“It cannot feel great as a teammate. I think even Checo [Perez] found that out, last year and even this year,” as reported by racingnews365.

Alex Albon has laid down the difficulties in being Max Verstappen’s team mate. But he has also laid the current world champion for his performances in F1.
