Lewis Hamilton has taken to his Instagram stories to pay his respects to George Floyd on his two-year death anniversary, an African-American man who was killed by a police officer in Minneapolis during an arrest after a shop keeper presumed Floyd of using a fake $20 bill.
The 7-time F1 world champion posted a picture of Floyd on his Instagram story where he mentioned how he had George Floyd in his thoughts on his two-year death anniversary. He also mentioned that he should’ve been alive and with his family today.
This comes right after Hamilton shared his condolences for all the 14 victims in an elementary school shooting in Texas earlier yesterday. The Briton has been known for always being a voice for gun control issues, rights for African-Americans and human rights in general.

Lewis Hamilton has always been a voice against the evils of racial injustice
Earlier last year, on Floyd’s one-year death anniversary, the Mercedes driver had mentioned how Floyd’s legacy would last forever and that the steps towards working to stop racial injustice had just begun and wouldn’t stop anytime soon.
To prolong transformation, the Mercedes driver established his own research work, The Hamilton Commission, 2 years ago to comprehend the hurdles to entry into motor racing for people from under-represented upbringings.

“We never forget. We continue our work. We believe in a world where children like George’s don’t have to worry about whether their dad will come home at night. Where every black person can walk down the street with the belief that this world was made for them. We work to build an equal world for George, for his children, and for all the other victims of racism,” said Hamilton earlier about the Hamilton Commission.
