Max Verstappen was in a league of his own during the Belgium Grand Prix and former F1 driver turned analyst, Christijan Albers has showered the Dutchman with massive praise for his exploits.

When it was confirmed that Max Verstappen was starting the race from P14, many people still believed that he would come away with maximum points.

Christijan Albers was also among those people and while dwelling over the 24-year-old’s performance, he referred to the huge advantage that Max had over the others during qualifying.

Moreover, being a former F1 driver himself, he knows that qualifying margins are further increased when it comes to the long runs and this is what he was banking on while backing Verstappen and it certainly proved to be the case during the Belgian Grand Prix.

Just to get a slight idea of Verstappen’s exceptional pace, he was able to make a massive jump from P14 to P8 on the very first lap of the race. Max in his Red Bull zoomed past cars as if they were not even there and once again proved why he is the reigning World Champion.

While Max Verstappen was able to disappear into the distance after taking the lead in the race, Sergio Perez, on the other hand, was nowhere near the times that the Dutchman was able to put up.

He was second best on all three days, Albers while praising Max said, “This was out of this world. This was the combination of Max, Red Bull, and that deadly extra feeling Max has in Spa.”

Perez was 18 seconds behind Verstappen and Albers while dwelling on the Mexican’s outing said, “That time difference makes it a very, very painful record for Perez.”

The former F1 driver has stressed that Max Verstappen’s raw pace in Belgium could become a cause for worry for Sergio Perez as there are still 8 races left in the season, and if things don’t improve on the 32-year-old’s side on the garage, then he can expect a lot of criticism coming his way.
