“Time to recharge batteries!” : Carlos Sainz relaxes himself with a good game of golf ahead of the F1 summer break

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz has had quite a bittersweet first-half of the 2022 season of Formula One. The Spaniard has been a victim of poor strategic decisions by the Maranello-based racing team often with a couple of DNFs along the way. An absolute positive takeaway from the first-half of the season for Sainz was his maiden Formula One at the British Grand Prix.
It took him 150 race starts to get to his first win. In a wet qualifying session, Sainz ended up taking his first Formula One pole position, pummeling Verstappen by 0.034 seconds. He was passed by Verstappen during the race, but managed to regain the top spot when Verstappen decelerated due to damage. He pitted for soft tyres in the final laps and passed Leclerc after a safety car period to clinch his first Formula One victory.

Carlos Sainz enjoys a game of golf
Carlos Sainz has always been very vocal about his admiration for golf as a sport. He had earlier mentioned how his father used to take him for golf lessons as a kid and how grateful he is for taking up the sport from a young age.
“Golf is one of the only sports where you play for four hours and you don’t think about your phone and you don’t think about F1, you have to stay focused,” said Sainz earlier on last year. This time, he has shared a video of him playing a game of golf. “Time to recharge batteries!,” wrote Sainz on his Twitter along with the video.
