Max Verstappen has just a while ago secured the pole position for tomorrow’s Mexican GP and has indicated that he is extremely pleased with his qualifying outing.

Max Verstappen was in hot form during the whole qualifying session and was able to secure P1, on a day when almost the whole of the crowd was cheering for the home hero, Sergio Perez.

However, that was not the case as the Dutchman was able to put in a stellar lap when it counted and was able to do what he has made a habit of doing during the 2022 F1 season.

While talking about his outing during the post-race interview Verstappen said, “It was a good qualifying. It was a close one, but after FP3, we made a few adjustments on the car, and got into a better rhythm.”

To be on pole here is of course amazing. It’s a very long run to turn 1, so we do need a good start, We have a quick car but that is what is important!”

While Max Verstappen has managed to do the job on Saturday, it is not going to be a walk in the park during the upcoming Grand Prix, as he has got the Mercedes duo of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton for company.

Moreover, the Brackley-based team has looked quick throughout the weekend and they are sure to become a nuisance for the 2022 F1 World Champion.

To get into a commanding position in the race, the Turn1 during the first lap is going to be absolutely crucial for the Dutchman, as from the start it is an extremely long straight until Turn1, and during this time Verstappen could prove to be a bit vulnerable.

Considering George Russell is going to be on the front row with Max Verstappen, fireworks can go off during the first lap, and to add to the Dutchman’s trouble, he has also got Hamilton behind him who would be looking to pounce on any available opportunity. Who according to you is going to come away from Mexico City with the bragging rights?
